A WEIGHT loss expert is calling on adults from Fareham to take time out of their busy lives to think about their health and wellbeing.
Slimming World, who have partnered up with the government’s One You campaign, is looking to support people in making changes towards a happier and healthier life.
Suzanne Cachia Nunn, who runs a Slimming World group in Fareham, said: ‘One You is about helping adults take time out of their busy lives to think about their own health and wellbeing.
‘As we all know at Slimming World, taking the time to pause and reflect and spend a little ‘me time’ is good for you.’
Since Suzanne took over the Fareham Monday group last year, the group has collectively lost 4662 pounds which is 333 stone.
Suzanne says that the government’s renewed focus on public health has never been more vital as around one in four (25 per cent) adults are obese.
She explained: ‘As well as the serious physical health conditions obesity can lead to – from diabetes and raised blood pressure to the increased risk of heart disease and cancer – people who struggle with their weight often experience low confidence, poor self-esteem and mental ill-health.’
In light of this, Suzanne has opened up a new Slimming World group in Fareham, for those who are not able to attend the Monday sessions.
These new sessions will take place on Tuesday mornings, starting at 9.30am at Holy Trinity Church in West Street, Fareham.
The first session will be taking place on Tuesday, March 14.
If anyone is interested in joining the group, they can attend the session at Holy Trinity or call Suzanne on 07923 871329.
Suzanne added: ‘Look out for me in Fareham out & about spreading the Slimming World word – I love the job I do.’
