SOLAR panels will be installed on the roof of one of the largest buildings owned by Hampshire County Council.

There are plans to use solar panels at Hawthorne Court Nursing Home, in Hamilton Road, Sarisbury Green in early 2015, as part of the council’s Energy Performance Programme.

It is hoped this pilot project, which will also see solar panels put in at Elizabeth II Court in Winchester and Dame Mary Fagan House in Basingstoke, will create energy and money for the authority and will help it to decide on other installations across its estate.
