To get the tanks ready for the event, aquarist Robert Davidson put the finishing touches to the aquarium’s sub-aquatic Christmas tree while sporting a festive jumper.

Hannah Butt, who is organising Christmas Jumper Day at the attraction, said: ‘We wanted to help promote Christmas Jumper Day because it’s a fun way for everybody to get involved and help needy children worldwide.

‘Pretty much everyone has a really cheesy Christmas sweater and this is the perfect opportunity to get it on and wear it with pride, rather than embarrassment – for one day at least.

‘Our brave volunteer went one step further and actually jumped into our tropical ocean display in
his Santa jumper to help
raise awareness about
Friday.’

As an added incentive, Blue Reef Aquarium will be offering anyone who arrives wearing a Christmas jumper between Friday and Sunday 20 per cent off the on-the-door admission price.
