A CHARITY walk managed to raise thousands of pounds to help fight breast cancer.

The Avon Tell Walk, which invites people to walk from Canoe Lake, in Southsea, to Clarence Pier, saw £3,000 raised this year.

Millie Spink, seven, raised £900 with the help of customers at her mum’s greengrocer’s.

Her mum, Sarah Long, said: ‘I was so proud of Millie and amazed at how generous all the customers were.

‘This is the first time we have done the walk but Millie loved it and had a great time.

‘We put buckets near the till in the shop and the customers donated around £600.

‘The rest of the money came from friends and family.’

The walk, which is in its fourth year, raises money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
