Sports club hosts 24-hour charity row in Southsea
Southsea Rowing Club hosted the event last Friday in support of The Rowans Hospice in Purbrook, which is dedicated to improving the lives of people with life-limiting illnesses in Portsmouth and south-east Hampshire.
Captain Peter Clarke said: ‘The event went really well, but it was a long 24 hours! We had the Hilsea Reserves come in during the night and had people of all ages, ranging from 12 to 69.

So far the club has raised £1,700, just shy of its £2,000 target, which will be split 50-50 between the club and the hospice.
Sponsorship is still coming in from schools and other localbusinesses,.
