MUSEUM records and Victorian census returns have been scoured for details of families living in Emsworth as part of an exhibition.

Emsworth Through Seven Decades begins on August 3 at the town’s museum.

Museum administrator Linda Newall and Geoff Higgins have put together a fascinating picture of Emsworth, its people, its buildings and its businesses in the 19th century.

Opening times at the North Street museum are 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Fridays and Sundays in August.

The exhibition runs until September 30 and admission free.
