A TREE hunt which was due to happen today at Staunton Country Park has been cancelled because of the rain.

Havant Borough Council carried out a risk assessment this morning and found the weather conditions made the area unsafe.

Those people who registered to take part in this event will be contacted by telephone to notify them of the decision.

Georgina Rogers, neighbourhoods development officer will be at the country park if anyone turns up.

All those who registered to take part in the event will receive an invitation to plant a tree in the October 27 between 11am and 3pm.

If the weather is bad again on this day, the tree planting can still go ahead as this activity is suitable for wet weather.

Anyone who would like to get involved and help on the rescheduled date should call (023) 9244 6495.
