UKULELE players raised nearly £1,000 for a church and a hospice.

The Gosport Ukulele Music Festival saw bands perform last month at Holy Trinity Church in Gosport.

Generous music-lovers raised £969, with £646 going to the Rowans Hospice and £323 to the church. Acts from Wallington to Brighton performed at the night.

Mick Perryment of the Stokes Bay Strummers hailed it as a huge success.
