Students pub quiz will support two charities

University of Portsmouth students have organised a pub quiz raising money for charity.

Marketa Smitova and her classmates will host the quiz at the Fat Fox, in Albert Road, on September 16, at 7.30pm.

All the money collected from the night will go to Help English and Help Women, a charity which support unprivileged children and women in northern Peru.

The extra funding will increase the resources available to the people who are helped by these projects, and will enable volunteers to expand the projects to many more communities.

After the event Marketa will also shave her hair, as part of the fundraising for the charity.

She said: ‘The charitiy have recently struggled with funding and desperately need funding in order to continue providing support to women and children.’
