Submariners called to join coffee morning

SUBMARINERS from the across Portsmouth area are being called to muster at a weekly coffee morning celebrating their service.

The Submariners’ Association will be hosting is next monthly meeting on Tuesday, at 10am, inside the Royal Beach Hotel, in St Helen’s Parade, Southsea.

All ranks and ages are welcome to the event, which is an informal chance for serving or retired submariners to get together.

Membership cards are available, which offer discounts on tea, coffee and cake. The bar will also be open.

The meetings are the brainchild of Paul Jevons, who was a submariner for 22 years but now runs The Sir Loin of Beef, in Southsea.

He said members are encouraged to bring their friends and family to join in with the event, which was launched last year.

Meetings are on the first Tuesday of every month.
