SMILING Darcey Fossey soaked up the sunshine as she scooped up toys with a fishing net in her grandmother’s garden.

Sarah Fossey took this delightful picture of her two-year-old granddaughter when she came to stay at her home in West Street, Havant, on Saturday.

She was so impressed by the way it came out that she decided to send it to The News in the hope it might win our One Summer’s Day photography competition.

Sarah, who took the image on a Samsung digital camera, said: ‘Darcey didn’t know at first that I had taken the picture.

‘When she turned around it looked so natural. It was such a lovely day and Darcey spent most of the day in the garden.

‘If I won the competiton then I would be very proud.

‘I am very proud of Darcey anyway.’

Email your prints to onesummersday@thenews.co.uk or post them to The News, 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Western Road, Portsmouth, PO6 3EN.

Only images that were taken on Saturday will be considered. The person who takes the winning shot will win a fantastic three-night weekend break for up to six people at Selsey-based Bunn Leisure. The runner gets a four-night midweek break for up to six people.
