FORECASTERS from the Met Office say sunny spells will shine down on the area when the torch arrives on Sunday.

When the Olympic flame makes its way to Portsmouth the weather will be dry with sunny spells.

The evening celebrations will also see dry and settled weather.

Craig Willcock, the cultural development officer for Portsmouth City Council, said: ‘This is a once-in-a-lifetime event and with the weather set to be fine we are sure the local community will be out in force to cheer on all of our local torchbearers.’
