Our Running for the Bus fundraiser has so far raised £700 for the Rucksack Project’s scheme to turn a double-decker bus into a homeless shelter.

On Tuesday, staff from The News will run around the lake at 1000 Lakeside, at North Harbour.

We are hoping to raise £1,000 to support the Bus Project, organised by Joanne Vines.

As previously reported, Joanne wants to turn the donated Stagecoach bus into a place where homeless people can shower, eat and sleep.

Portsmouth City Council and a number of businesses have already showed their support for the project.
