She said: ‘We were delighted to support Breast Cancer Care’s Strawberry Tea campaign.

‘The money raised through Strawberry Teas makes a real difference to people affected by breast cancer.

‘It was fantastic to see so many people came and showed their support and pledge to host their own Strawberry Tea parties over the next couple of weeks.

‘The water may have been cold, but it just goes to show how supportive our colleagues and customers across the UK are of our fundraising activities.’

Hannah Branch, community fundraising manager at Breast Cancer Care, added: ‘We’re delighted Asda colleagues and customers supported us.

‘We’d love more people to gather friends and family to host their own afternoon tea.’
