TAKE a safari across picturesque countryside to help people in Africa.

The Portsmouth Oxfam Action Group is hosting the 30th South Downs Safari next weekend.

The proceeds from two walks will fund sanitation, health and education projects.

On September 22, a walk begins at 10am at Stansted Park, Rowlands Castle.

And on September 29, there will be a choice of either a seven or 12-mile walk, starting at 10am from the National Trust car park at Harting Down.

Organiser Owen Plunkett said: ‘We’ve raised in excess of £50,000 in the past 30 years.

‘This year the money will be used to improve water and sanitation in rural areas of Angola’. Walkers are asked to raise sponsorship or make a donation. Call (023) 9225 4959 or go to SouthDownsSafari.webs.com.
