THE LATEST milestone in a £6.7m project has been marked.

Care UK was joined by developer and construction partner Castleoak to mark the occasion at the site in Portsmouth Road.

The project is on track to create up to 108 jobs when the care home is fully commissioned, and will take in its first residents early next year.

Justin Daley, construction project manager for Care UK, said: ‘As the latest addition to a growing portfolio of residential care homes, the Horndean site represents a major investment for Care UK.

‘When complete, the care home will boost the provision of quality residential care for up to 72 older people, as well as creating jobs for the community.

‘As work continues in Horndean, our vision for the home is well on the
way to being realised, and we wanted to take the opportunity to acknowledge progress and celebrate the topping out with our construction
partners and other stakeholders.’

The new three-storey home, which will feature 72 en-suite bedrooms, has been
designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while promoting independence.

It will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and house a cinema, hairdressing salon and cafe.
