FOOTBALL players are being urged to lace up their boots for a worthy cause.

Division three teams from Havant Sunday Football League are being called upon to take part in a six-a-side tournament in aid of The Rowans Hospice on Saturday, May 26.

The all-day event, which will be held at Warblington School, Havant, has been organised by Dunham Bush FC secretary Tony Wilkins.

The club is sponsored by Dunham-Bush Limited, which sells chiller equipment.

Mr Wilkins said: ‘I want to get everyone together so we can raise money for this excellent cause. The Rowans not only does a lot for the people it cares for but also their families and the wider community.

‘This is about the club giving something back. My partner Allison Adams is a support worker and she cares for those who go home after they have stayed at The Rowans.’

Cash will be raised on the day through donations from players. Teams will each be given sponsor forms. For more information call Mr Wilkins on 07794 237478.
