GOLFERS are being encouraged to take part in a charity golf tournament.

The Rainbow Centre is organising the event which is being held at the newly-refurbished Skylark Golf and Country Club, in Whiteley.

Teams of four are being encouraged to enter to play the 18-hole shotgun start game.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded to ladies’, men’s and mixed team winners.

Players will also be encouraged to take part in a number of course games including longest drive and nearest to the pin. There will also be a raffle and auction.

The tournament will be raising money for the Rainbow Centre, in Palmerston Drive, Fareham, which cares for children with cerebral palsy and other motor skill problems as well as adults with Parkinson’s Disease or who have suffered a stroke.

Sarah Guild, events fundraiser at the centre, said: ‘We’re very much looking forward to hosting our charity tournament in partnership with the team at the Skylark Golf and Country Club.

‘This event will “tee off” our new financial year, and after the success of our recent appeal, we’d like to invite golfers to join us for a wonderful day out.’

Four ball teams are being encouraged to book early to take advantage of the day’s package which includes breakfast, a two-course lunch and 18-hole shot-gun start game for £225 a team.
