Teen to cut hair to raise cash for children

A BRAVE teenager is set to get her long locks cut for charity.

Rhiannon Wheatcroft, 14 from Southsea, hasn’t had her hair cut for six years but is getting 10 inches chopped off in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

Rhiannon, who has autism, was inspired to get some her hair cut off when she saw her younger sisters having theirs cut.

She initially hoped to raise £50 but the fund has already surpassed the £200 mark from friends and family members.

Her locks will go to children across the UK and Ireland who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Rhiannon’s mum, Catherine Finney, said: ‘I am proud of Rhiannon.

‘I would never tell her to cut any of her hair off. She just said it would be nice for give some away for children who have lost their hair.

‘She is quite quiet but loves her practical jokes. It makes you really proud when your children want to help other people.’

Rhiannon gets her hair cut this Saturday in NTC Hair and Nail, Paulsgrove.
