Teenagers launch vicious attack on Portsmouth man as he tried to stop them ripping drainpipe off his Fratton home

TEENAGE thugs viciously attacked a 50-year-old man after he tried to stop them ripping a drainpipe from his home.

The victim was pushed to the ground and punched in the face before all three teenagers – aged between 16-20 – kicked him.

He suffered a large cut to the back of his ear and swelling to the back of his head.

The trio were white and were wearing dark puffa jackets and jeans.

Police were called to the attack in Walmer Road, Fratton, in Portsmouth, at 12.35pm yesterday.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said the incident started with a ‘verbal altercation’ after the trio tried to pull the drainpipe of the man’s home.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Samantha Barber said: 'I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this incident.

‘Did you witness the attack, or did you see a group of teenagers in the area matching the descriptions?'
