DANCING, an auction and plenty of champagne at a ball helped raise much needed cash for a charity.

The Elizabeth Foundation, which supports young children with hearing loss, was presented with a cheque for £5,320 by the company Basepoint, at the firm’s annual ball.

Basepoint has offices in Havant and Waterlooville.

Manager Brigitte Baker said: ‘We had a fantastic night at the ball, and hope our donation is helpful. We look forward to more fundraising activities with The Elizabeth Foundation in future, and also supporting them in the amazing work they do.’

Alison Robinson, fundraising and finance manager at the foundation, said: ‘We are thrilled that Basepoint Waterlooville and Havant are supporting us again, match-funding our ball auction, tombola and raffle to the generous total of £5,320.

‘This matched funding will enable us to continue to offer our vital early intervention to babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers at our Hampshire Family Centre.’
