COWBOYS and Indians could be seen at a church fete as visitors embraced its ‘wild west’ theme.
Scores enjoyed the annual summer fete at St John the Baptist Church, in London Road, Purbrook with many dressing up for the day. There were plenty of stalls for people to browse as well as a puppet show for the youngsters. Also on display was artwork from local schools and art groups.
Father Phillip Amey, who got soaked after being hit by wet sponges in stocks, said: ‘The idea is to get the community together and have fun. It was a wonderful day.’
Among the visitors was Maggie Evans, 43, London Road, Purbrook, said: ‘It was a lovely day and it’s great to show support to the community.’
