ORGANISERS of the Portsmouth Festivities have hailed this year’s festival as a success.

The were more than 90 events ranging from a folk- dance band on HMS Warrior to a seafood picnic outside Portsmouth Cathedral.

Festivities general manager Erica Smith said: ‘It’s been overall a major success – to place such varied events in amazing iconic venues around the beautiful city of Portsmouth is what makes the Festivities and I look forward to curating 2016.’

Ms Smith said the Festivities would be back next year with an even more exciting and vibrant programme.

She said people were raving about the event on social media and in surveys.

Ms Smith said praise on social media included: ‘Thank you for the music – especially The Peatbog Fairies on Warrior. What an amazing night.’
