Thousands raised for hospices in charity festival

A '˜FANTASTIC' charity festival has been praised after managing to raise £2,400 for two hospices.

The Mount Folly Garden Centre in Wickham’s charity festival on June 26 raised the great total for children’s hospice Naomi House & Jacksplace and The Rowans Hospice.

A carnival atmosphere greeted visitors, with a craft fair and music from Solent Sounds, Igloo Music UK and Aziza Egyptian Dance.

Chris Wood, assistant director at Igloo Music UK, said: ‘It was a fantastic day full of laughs all for great causes.

Dielle Hannah, who organised the event, added: ‘It was a real party atmosphere this year.

‘We have a great team around us now, and everyone is very supportive. I’m very proud that the festival gets better each year and hugely grateful to everyone who gives up their time to support these charities.’

The event managed to raise £700 more than last year.

Next year’s event takes place on June 25.
