A woman has been targeted by vandals who slashed the tyres on her car.

The 61-year-old woman from Gosport had left her car parked in a parking bay in Mariners Way overnight.

But the following day she discovered three tyres had been slashed. It is believed to have happened between 5.30pm on Saturday and 9am on Sunday. It is the fourth type of incident to happen in this road, costing almost 500 in total.

PC Nick Alford said: 'We are appealing for any information or witnesses to this incident of criminal damage, and we would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any other acts of damage like this - where a vehicle has had its tyres slashed.

'In the past three months, several separate vehicles have been damaged in a similar way, belonging to various residents of the street.

'If anyone knows who is responsible for this, they should contact police and help us prevent further expensive, mindless criminal acts like this from occurring.'
