OLYMPIC torchbearer John Jenkins, who carried the torch from Fratton Park, will be guest at an autumn fayre.

He will wear his full Olympic outfit and bring the torch to the event at the Havelock Centre, in Fawcett Road, Southsea.

Visitors will have the chance to talk to him, hold the torch and have pictures taken.

There will be a number of stalls, table-top sales, a raffle, tombola, a bran tub for the children, nail painting, and face painting on Saturday.

All funds raised will go towards the running of the self-funded community centre and its services.

Secretary of the centre, Jenny Bennett said: ‘This annual fayre is an essential part of our fundraising in order to keep our popular centre running.’

The event on Saturday runs at midday to 4pm.
