Fire officers called to Gosport bin fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a bin fire in Gosport last night to help control smoke from spreading.

Officers received a call to Marles Close, in Rowner, just after 10pm. One appliance from both Gosport and Fareham fire stations attended the incident respectively.

The fire was already out on arrival and firefighters had to stop any smoke and gas from spreading.

Two children were taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: ‘We were called to Marles Close at 10.12pm last night.

‘There was no real damage done to the property.

‘The smoke alarm was working and our message is that they save lives.’
