Firefighters called to huge blaze at Port Solent restaurant

ABOUT 30 firefighters from across Portsmouth are battling a blaze at a restaurant in Port Solent this evening.

Crews from Southsea, Cosham, Portchester and Fareham were mobilised after a fire erupted at the Casa Brasil, in Broadwalk.

Huge flames can be seen from the roof of the building, with smoke rising into the sky.

Police and ambulance crews have also been called to the scene, as well as Hampshire Fire and Rescue’s aerial ladder platform.

The fire ignited on the roof of the eatery at 10.11pm.

Firefighters are using high-pressure water jets in an effort to quell the flames.

There have been no reports of any casualties yet.
