Firefighters rescue men stuck in cherry picker

Firefighters rescued two men who had become stuck in a cherry picker last night.

Crews from Southsea and Cosham Fire Station were called to Kettering Street, near Portsmouth’s international ferry port, at around 11pm.

The men, who were putting up ‘To Let’ signs at Norman House, had become trapped two storeys off the ground after a mechanical failure with the hydraulic crane.

Firefighters used a ladder to rescue the men, who suffered no injuries.
