'˜Full investigation' into death of woman on Clipper Round The World yacht race

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, founder of Gosport-based Clipper Round the World yacht race, has pledged a full investigation into the death of Sarah Young.

The 40-year-old London businesswoman was washed overboard in the Pacific Ocean and is the second person to die in this year’s event.

Sir Robin said everyone involved in the race was in ‘shock’. The investigation will focus on why she was not tethered to the yacht.

Andrew Ashman, a crew member on the same boat, died in September after being knocked unconscious.
