Long delays on M27 after crash

DRIVERS faced lengthy delays on the M27 after a crash this morning.

One lane was blocked on the westbound route between Junction 7 at Hedge End and Junction 5 at Eastleigh after a collision between a Peugeot 3008 and a BMW.

Motorists faced delays as emergency services worked to clear the road.

After being called to the crash at 8.20am, crews of firefighters from stations at St Mary's, Hightown and Redbridge attended the scene.

They freed one person from one of the cars who was then passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (Scas) paramedics, before issuing a stop message at 9.29am.
