It comes as road policing officers from Hampshire Constabulary pulled someone over for reading their Twitter feed while on the M27.

The force tweeted: ‘Twitter is great way of communicating.

‘However DO NOT read your Twitter feed whilst driving !!

‘A driver issued with a ticket today on the #M27 #Rownhams for doing just that’

Their tweet also carried the message #ItsNotWorthTheRisk.

But some people hit back at police for sending news on road congestion via Twitter saying the social media site is the best way for drivers stuck in traffic to get the latest updates.
