The emergency services – including Fareham firefighters – attended.

Passerby Stu Davies, from Gosport, was on his way home when he saw the crash and rushed to the man’s aid, while a woman looked after his young son.

He said: ‘I want to say thank you to the lady that looked after Harry by the roadside while I was helping.’

The road was closed, but it was cleared and reopened by 6.30pm.
