Pensioner in '˜serious condition' after four-vehicle crash in Fareham

A PENSIONER is in a serious condition after a four vehicle collision in Fareham on Thursday.

The 72-year-old male driver of a blue Nissan Micra was injured in the accident southbound on Newgate Lane, near to entrance of Tudor Lodge, at 10.20am.

He remains at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham due to his injuries.

A 57-year-old woman, who was driving a grey Kia Sorento in the collision, was also taken to hospital at the time with minor injuries and has been discharged.

The collision also involved a red skip lorry and a white BMW 2 series.

Police are appealing for more witnesses following the incident.

PC Michael Nol said: ‘This collision happened on a busy section of road, not long after the morning rush hour, so we know that would not have been a lot of people around who may have seen something.

‘We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw any of the vehicle prior to the incident.’
