Police close rural road near Fareham after car rolls on to its side

A CAR had to be cleared from a rural lane near Fareham after rolling on to its side.

Police said no injuries were reported after the crash involving a white Seat Ibiza in Boarhunt Road this morning.

Officers were called to the scene at 6.48am, originally to a report a car was ‘on its roof’.

The crash, pictured, spattered dirt up the driver’s side and appeared to trigger airbags in the vehicle.

On Twitter, Hampshire roads police said: ‘Very busy morning with a lot of incidents. Luckily no one injured. Boarhunt [Road] still closed.’

It left the vehicle in a large puddle near the entrance of a field, before later being recovered.

Exactly an hour later emergency services were also called to a crash at the junction of the A32 and Station Road in Wickham, four miles north.

The collision involving a blue Volkswagen and a red Ford left two drivers, a man and a woman, with minor injuries.

South Central Ambulance Service said both people were treated at the scene at did not need to go to hospital.
