Road closure as Portsmouth Naval Base prepares for new carriers
A SECTION of road in Portsmouth will be closed to traffic for four weeks.
As part of ongoing work to install a new underground power supply to Portsmouth Naval Base, a section of St George’s Road will be closed from today.
The work is part of the preparations for the arrival of the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers and will ensure the wider area is not affected by the increase in power supply needed by the base. The road will be closed between the junction of Gunwharf Road and Park Road.
