Southern Rail having effect on UK's punctuality levels for rail services

A RAIL service is being blamed for the country's national punctuality levels.

Rail regulator the Office of Rail and Road said that the performance of Govia Thameslink Rail, the operator of Southern, which serves Portsmouth, has had ‘a significant impact’ on national performance. The report said that the increase in sickness among staff was also having a factor in addition to the industrial action against the firm.

The UK’s overall punctuality was ‘mixed.’
