A spokesman from Gosport Fire Station said: ‘We were called at 1.10pm to a road traffic collision on Stoke Road.

‘We had to do a roof removal as there were two women trapped.

‘Two fire engines from Gosport went along with two fire engines from Cosham who had specialist equipment.’

Once free from the car, the women were treated by South Central Ambulance Service.

The road was re-opened shortly afterwards.
