UPDATE: Man rescued from car after three-vehicle collision on M27

A man has had to be cut out of his vehicle after a three-vehicle collision on the M27.

The crash on the westbound M27 this evening

The man’s car was one of three vehicles involved in the collision between Junction 11 for Fareham and 10 (for the A32) this evening.

He sustained minor injuries at the scene and was is being treated at the scene by staff from South Central Ambulance Service.

Two other people at the scene were assessed by paramedics before being discharged.

David Gallagher, spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called to the scene at about 5.37pm regarding a three-vehicle collision eastbound on the M27 between Junctions 10 and 11.

‘Two patients were assessed at the scene and discharged and a man was cut out of his vehicle by firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.’

Drivers are warned to expect six miles of traffic jams as the middle and fast lanes of the M27 eastbound are closed.

The road has just been cleared but delays continue.

Cosham Fire Station have sent a ladder and a response vehicle to the incident after being called to the scene by police.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said that they are at the scene liaising with Hampshire Constabulary officers.

Police are telling drivers to avoid the area.

The crash is also affecting traffic westbound through the area.
