A man visiting Chichester got quite a shock when he discovered his car had become the centrepiece to the weekly Cattlemarket market.

Eden Moafy, from London, was visiting a friend last weekend and decided to park in an empty car park with the intention of collecting it early the following morning.

However, his plan didn’t run as smoothly as he expected.

“I looked past the sign saying you are only able to stay up until 5am on Saturdays because of the market,” said Eden.

“I got my friend to give me a lift in the morning to avoid getting a parking ticket, however when searching for the car the penny dropped.

“My Polo – called Ernie – was in the centre of the market!”

Mr Moafy added: “The stall owner was not impressed – I apologised and said I could leave it there for the day to avoid any more inconvenience but he said he would prefer if I moved it.

“I helped him move his £1 garden glove boxes as well as bin liners and helped him disassemble part of his stall so I could drive out.

“Funny thing is it looked like the car was for sale.”
