On Monday, March 7, a farmer in West Dean, Chichester, found 116 of his animals dead.
Sussex Police say they would have died some time between 10am and 2pm. The most likely cause is they were scared to death by a dog.
Sergeant Tom Carter said: ‘With Easter just around the corner, more people will be getting out into the countryside with their dogs.
‘We would urge them again to keep their dogs on a lead while they are walking in rural areas and around livestock.’
