Woman hit by bus in Gosport dies from injuries

A WOMAN who was hit by a bus last Friday in Gosport has died.

Police confirmed that the 35-year-old, who was taken to hospital after the incident, died from her injuries.

They said they were not in a position to release her name.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Henry Cort Way at around 7.24pm after the collision between a pedestrian and the bus.

The woman, from Gosport, was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance with multiple serious injuries.

As reported in The News according to eye-witnesses the vehicle involved was an Eclipse service.

The road, which is a dedicated bus lane, was closed to protect evidence.

Several police cars were seen parked around the bus, which was heading for Fareham bus station.

Investigators were seen closely examining the vehicle, which was coned off to protect evidence.

The pedestrian access from Harris Road to get to the bus route and its shelters was taped off by officers.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to get in touch with Hampshire Constabulary.
