PART of the A3(M)’s central reservation has been taken out after a motorist drove through it.

The driver of a blue Ford Focus was uninjured, according to police, after the vehicle struck a barrier on the southern carriageway and ended up facing on-coming traffic on the northern side of the road.

Lanes were closed on the northbound road following the accident at around 5.06pm.

The accident happened close to junction five of the A3(M).

A police spokesman said traffic had backed up close to the scene of the accident, but that all lanes are now open again.
