TRAINS into Hampshire have faced delays this morning after an incident at a level crossing in Sussex.
Network Rail has confirmed that a van drove into a barrier at Angmering Railway Station earlier this morning, closing the crossing and slowing trains down through the area.
The incident caused a number of train delays to trains heading to and from Havant.
A spokesman from Network Rail said: ‘The incident took place at 7.24am – it was a van that had driven into the barrier at Angmering.
‘The barrier had been damaged and was pointing away from the track.
‘We got out there quite quickly to repair the damage, but there was a big traffic build-up while the crossing was closed, and trains had to run at a reduced speed.
‘Everything was back up and running by 8.33am.’
