PORTSMOUTH train services have been disrupted today following a man being hit by a train.

The incident, which is being investigated by British Transport Police, happened this morning at Surbiton rail station in Surrey.

The train involved was the 8am service from Bournemouth to London Waterloo.

A BTP spokesman said: ‘Officers were called to Surbiton rail station following a report of a person being struck by a train.

‘Paramedics from the London Ambulance service also attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.’

The incident has lead to on-going delays in services.
