Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas could only berth in Portsmouth after an £18m upgrade to the port – as at 73,0000 tonnes she is the biggest ship to have arrived, bigger than the aircraft carriers.

The giant liner was only here for a day – but it is hoped that she will return in the future as Portsmouth is looking to see a cruise boom in coming years.
