Hampshire's least-used train station is revealed – and it has just 33 visitors a day

The least-used train stations in Hampshire in 2019/20 have been revealed.

The ORR (Office for Rail and Road) has released the data on stations, which are ranked according to the total number of entries and exits (the number of people getting on a train added to the number of people getting off a train) between April 2019 and March 2020.

Most stations in Hampshire saw a fall in passenger numbers during that period, due to ongoing strikes by South Western Railway workers, stormy weather and the start of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year.

London Waterloo was the UK’s busiest station but recorded 7.3 million fewer entries and exits than the previous year.

The busiest station in Hampshire was Southampton Central, followed by Basingstoke and Winchester.

The county’s least-used station was Beaulieu Road which had an average of just 33 visitors a day, although this was a slight increase from 29 the year before.

Here are the stations in Hampshire with the fewest entries and exits in 2019/20.
