Man dies after crash on A27 near Chichester

West Sussex Police have confirmed that the man was ‘sadly pronounced dead at the scene’ after a crash involving a lorry.
A police spokeswoman said: ‘Police were called at 2.47am to reports a blue Suzuki Swift had collided with a lorry parked in a lay-by on the Chichester Bypass.

Hide Ad‘The road was closed westbound between the Stockbridge roundabout and the Fishbourne roundabout for a number of hours to allow investigation work to take place.’
The westbound carriageway still remains closed and is not expected to reopen until 12.30pm. There have been long delays this morning on both sides of the carriageway.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the car being driven prior to the incident.
