Temporary traffic lights that led to M27 and A27 delays will be used again during evening rush hour

TRAFFIC lights which contributed to lengthy delays on the M27, A27 and the A3(M) during the morning rush hour will be used again this evening.

The two-way temporary measures at Newgate Late, Fareham, will be manually operated again between 3.30pm and 7pm, Hampshire Highways has confirmed.

They were set up between Gosport Road and the Longfield Avenue roundabout yesterday after a manhole collapsed.

Drivers in Gosport, Fareham and on the trio of main routes faced delays of at least 20 minutes when the lights were used this morning.

Hampshire Council County yesterday warned of delays as a result of the measures coming into force.
