Diverted traffic was asked to merge onto the M275 southbound, exit at Junction 1 and use the roundabout.

From there drivers could take the M275 north and then merge onto the A27 to continue their journey.

Police have been on the scene and are leading the incident response.

On Saturday evening Highways England traffic officers were repairing the barrier which had been damaged.
